Bakauheni
Bakauheni is a
town in the southern part of the Lampung Province, Indonesia. It is one of the
busiest ports in Indonesia. Ferries carrying passengers and vehicles,
particularly large trucks, connect Bakauheni with the major port of Merak in Java
Island across the Sunda Strait.
The average
duration of trips required between Bakauheni - Merak or otherwise by ferry is
for about 2 hours. Public transportation users are able to speed up the trip by
using small boats which can reduce the travel time about an hour. However, this
option is of course more expensive, and boats are only available from morning
until the late afternoon, when the water is not too rough. The port is very
busy during mudik tradition, especially in new year and Ied Mubarak
days.
Borobudur Temple
Borobudur is one
of the most wonderful legacies of the ancient human which Indonesia has ever
had. A lot of people come to visit Borobudur to se how wonderful this temple
is.
Borobudur, or
Barabudur, is Mahayana Buddhist Temple in Magelang, Central Java, Indonesia.
The temple consists of nine stacked platforms, six squares and three circulars,
topped by a central dome which is decorated with 2,672 relief panels and 504
Buddha statues. The central dome is in the center of 72 Buddha statues, each
seated inside a perforated Stupa. It is the world's largest Buddhist
temple often considered as one of the greatest Buddhist monuments in the world.
Built in the 9th
century during the reign of the Sailendra Dynasty, the temple was designed in
Javanese Buddhist architecture blending the Indonesian indigenous culture of
ancestor worship and the Buddhist concept of attaining Nirvana. The temple is
also influenced by Gupta art reflecting India's influence on the region, but
there are a lot of indigenous elements incorporated that make Borobudur very
Indonesian. That is why almost all Indonesian need to go there for a visit.
Ampera Bridge
Ampera Bridge is
a Vertical-lift bridge in the city of Palembang, South Sumatra, Indonesia,
which is the landmark of the city. It connects Seberang Ulu and Seberang Ilir,
two regions of Palembang. It can no longer be opened to allow ships to pass.
The bridge was
planned during the era of Indonesia's first president, who wanted a bridge that
could open and be a match for London's Tower Bridge. For a few years after it
was opened, the center span could be lifted at a speed of approximately 10
meters per minute to allow ships of up to 44.5m in height to pass underneath.
However this only occurred a few times, and after 1970 it could no longer be
opened. The official reason for this was that the 30 minutes needed to rise the
bridge was wasting time, and that in any case silting of the river had made it
impassable for large ships. However, according to architect Wiratman, who acted
as a consultant before the construction, the design of the bridge was flawed
from the outset because of the soft mud on which it was built. The ballast
weights needed to balance the weight of the bridge were removed in 1990 to
prevent possible accidents were they to fall. However, behind its past stories
which can be considered as a not well-formed bridge, Ampera bridge is still
interesting enough for the visitors.
Lembah Pelangi Waterfall
Lembah Pelangi
Waterfall sounds unfamiliar for either local or foreign tourists. Lembah
Pelangi Waterfall is located in Sukamaju village, Ulubelu sub district,
Tanggamus district, Lampung province, Indonesia. The access to this place is
quite difficult because Ulu Belu sub district is a remote area in Lampung with
its hilly contours which make this tourist spot elusive.
Lembah Pelangi
Waterfall has two levels where the waterfall on the second level has two
branches. The height of the first level waterfall is about 100 meters, while
the second level waterfall is about dozens of meters. The best enchantment of
this waterfall is the rainbow which appears between the valley and the
waterfall as the name suggests. The soft flowing gurgling waterfall sounds is
like a chant of nature which can remove the tiredness of the long trip to go
there. Under the waterfall, there are several spots of warm water which can be
an interesting spot for bathing.

you will be shown a panorama of natural beauty which is very interesting for
every pair of eyes seeing it. Rocky hills accompanied by leafy trees will
actually soothe both your eyes.

attractions from a group of dolphins. The attractions of a group of dolphins

Tanjung Setia Beach
Lampung is not
only famous for its Way Kambas National Park. One of the best tourist
attractions of this province is Tanjung Setia Beach. This beach is located in
the village of Tanjung Setia, West Lampung district, Lampung province. It is
about 273 km or about six to seven hour driving from Bandar Lampung, the
capital city of Lampung province.
This beach has
not been well known by the citizens of Indonesia yet, but for the world surfers
this beach is a hidden paradise for surfing. This beach is exactly laid on the
track of large Indian Ocean currents that make this beach have waves which are
quite perfect for surfing. The perfect wave of this beach usually lasts from
June to August with the height which can reach up to six to seven meters with a
200 meters length.
In addition to
perfect waves for surfing, the beach also has an ambience which is quite
natural with white sand along the beach. Rows of palm tree which grow also
adorn this beach. For local people, the beach area is also an ideal place for
fishing. Some fish which are often obtained by the fisherman are blue marlin

residents this fish is known by the name of Iwa Tuhuk.

Gili is derived from Sasak language (Lombok
Island native tribal language) which means small island. Actually there are
several Gili / dykes around the island of Lombok, yet there are three
dykes that are known by tourists, namely Gili Trawangan, Gili Air
and Gili Meno.
Among the three
dykes, the Gili Trawangan is the largest, well-known and the most
complete amenities. Gili Trawangan is located in the northwest of the
island of Lombok. Administratively, Gili Trawangan includes in
the territory of the village of Gili Indah, West Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara
province.
Gili Trawangan has several beaches with very beautiful
views. Most beaches have blue tosca and clear sea water. The sand there is also
soft with white color. On the west side of the island, you can get the beach
atmosphere which is quiet and calm enough. But there, the sand is slightly
coarser than the sand of the beach which is in the southeast of the island.
Even though, this island looks pretty green with many pine trees, acacia, and
coconut trees that beautify the shoreline.
My Persian Cat
I have a Persian
cat in my house. His name is “Reddy”. He is an energetic cat because his body
is not too fat. Having a red fur, I call him Reddy.
I really love to
cuddle him because his fur feels soft and clean because I am used to taking him
a bath once in a week. Every morning my mother gives him a fish and other cat
meal. Sometimes, he scratches out my sofa made of leather when I play with him.
He likes to run around the house in the afternoon. He likes chasing everyone in
my house. When he feels tired or sleepy, he usually sleeps in the living room
after having some meals in the evening.
“Reddy” often
goes out to find out some foods at night. Sometimes, he brings a mouse on his
mouth after chasing it around my house. Then he eats the mouse in the back
yard. He is a smart and funny cat. I really love him.
The White Rhino
A rhinoceros or a
rhino is a large mammal which originally lives in Africa and Asia. There are
various species of rhino in the world; and one of them which I think is unique
is the white rhino. What makes white rhino unique and different with other
species of rhino, here is the description.
When you heard
the name of ‘white rhino’, do not ever think that it has got white skin. In
fact, the white rhino is actually grey. So where do the name of ‘white rhino’
come from? The white rhino's name derives from the Dutch ‘weit’ meaning wide, a
reference to its wide, square muzzle adapted for grazing. May be because of
wrong pronunciation of ‘weit’ to ‘white’, now this species of rhino is commonly
called as the white rhino.
As they have
named for, 'weit', white rhinos have a square muzzle which are adapted for
grazing. White rhinos have a pronounced hump on the neck, a long face and a
thick, hairless, grey skin. Like other African rhino, white rhino have two
horns, the longer of which sits at the front of the nose. White rhinos include
the biggest land mammals which live in Africa besides, black rhinos, elephants
and other mammals. The size of white rhinos stand about 60 inches at the
shoulder and weight over 2 tons. White rhinos can live up to 35-40 years, even
more in the captivity.
White rhinos are
found in grassland and savannah habitat. White rhinos are herbivore grazers
that eat grass, preferring the shortest ones. White rhinos drink twice a day if
water is available, but if conditions are dry they can live four or five days
without water. White rhinos spend about half of the day eating, one third resting,
and the rest of the day doing various other things. White rhinos, like all
species of rhinoceros, love wallowing in mud holes to cool down.
